42M 288-PAX Catamaran High Speed Passenger Ferry | Jumeirah Industry LLC
This wave-piercing high-speed catamaran ferry is independently designed and built by Jumeirah Industry LLC, fully compliant with international HSC High-Speed Craft codes. It serves coastal inter-island transportation, cross-border sea passenger transport and coastal sightseeing routes. The vessel features high speed, excellent seakeeping performance, shallow draft, low vibration and superior riding comfort. It accommodates up to 288 passengers with a crew of 9, gross tonnage 530 GT, making it a premium mainstream vessel for short-distance maritime passenger transport.
1. Principal Dimensions & Performance
LOA 42.1m, LWL 39.8m, moulded beam 10.6m, moulded depth 3.65m, approximate draft only 1.25m, compatible with shallow-water island berths. Design speed reaches 38 knots to cut sailing time and improve route operation efficiency.
2. Engine & Propulsion System
Main propulsion consists of 2 units MTU 16V4000M63L marine diesel engines, 2240kW each, coupled with original Reintjes gearboxes. Twin RR/Wärtsilä water jets deliver agile maneuverability, avoid grounding in shallow water and reduce onboard vibration & noise.
Two 90kW generator sets supply stable power for full vessel air conditioning, galley, interior facilities and all navigation & communication equipment.
3. General Arrangement
- Passenger Decks: Two passenger zones (main deck & upper deck) with ergonomic aviation-style seats, including economy and premium seats. The cabin is fitted with anti-slip wooden flooring, wide viewing windows and full-range central air conditioning for optimal comfort.
- Wheelhouse: Integrated intelligent control console with full set of navigation, communication and monitoring equipment, wide panoramic view and high automation to reduce operation workload.
- Crew Quarters & Galley: Separate crew lounge with bunk beds and storage space. Fully equipped galley with refrigerator, range hood and cooking appliances to support crew daily catering.
- Engine Room: Neatly arranged power units with well-protected pipelines and wide maintenance walkways for convenient after-service inspection.
4. Safety, Fire Fighting & Navigation Systems
All lifesaving and fire-fighting appliances meet full maritime statutory standards.
Lifesaving outfit: 288 life jackets, 4 life rafts, 4 life buoys, 2 rope ladders.
Fire-fighting outfit: 10 powder extinguishers, 2 foam extinguishers, 4 fire hoses, 2 searchlights.
Navigation & communication package: dual radar, ECDIS, DGPS, AIS, auto pilot, VSAT, GMDSS, EPIRB, SART, VHF, CCTV and other auxiliary devices to guarantee all-weather navigation safety.
