1. Overview
Our Flettner-type rotor-sail system is a proven wind-assisted propulsion solution designed for both new-build and retrofitted merchant vessels. Leveraging the Magnus Effect, the rotating vertical cylinder captures natural wind to generate auxiliary thrust, lowering main-engine fuel consumption and greenhouse-gas emissions. The system holds major classification-society AIP certifications and complies with IMO EEXI / CII regulations, suitable for bulkers, tankers, chemical ships, ro-pax ferries and offshore support craft. Custom-sized rotors and three base-mounting options adapt to nearly all deck layouts.2. Working Principle
Driven by a variable-frequency motor, the composite rotor spins continuously. Cross-flowing wind creates a pressure difference across the cylinder surface, producing forward thrust with zero extra fuel burn. An intelligent controller automatically adjusts rotational speed in real-time according to wind conditions, ship speed and engine load, maximizing fuel-saving performance during voyage.3.
