Product Introduction
Marine Rigid Wing Sail Product Introduction
1 Product Overview
The whole system fully complies with IMO EEDI, EEXI and CII carbon intensity regulations, and has obtained marine material certifications from mainstream international classification societies. It supports matching for both new ship construction and in-service vessel decarbonization retrofits, recovering natural wind power to cut main engine load, fuel consumption and harmful exhaust emissions.
2 Working Principle & Energy-Saving Efficiency
Working Principle
Adopting multi-section airfoil layout with intelligent hydraulic servo drive units, the system automatically adjusts the wing’s attack angle in real time based on wind speed, wind direction and sailing speed to maximize aerodynamic lift. The pressure gap between windward and leeward surfaces generates steady auxiliary forward thrust without extra fuel burn.
A rapid folding safety mechanism is integrated: the entire wing can fold to horizontal within 2 seconds under strong winds to guarantee vessel stability and navigation safety.
Fuel Saving & Emission Reduction Performance
- Average annual fuel saving on regular transoceanic routes: 10%–18%
- Peak fuel saving under steady trade winds: up to 30%
- Synchronized reduction of CO₂, SOₓ and NOₓ emissions: 10%–30%
- A single large vessel can reduce nearly 5,000 tons of carbon output per year
- Typical investment payback period: 5–7 years
- Effectively lift vessel CII rating and lower EU ETS carbon tax expenses
