Product Introduction
Marine CEMS Continuous Emission Monitoring System
Product Introduction
Marine CEMS (Continuous Emission Monitoring System) is a class-approved onboard flue-gas analytical system, fully compliant with IMO MEPC.399(83) and MARPOL Annex-VI requirements. It delivers real-time, continuous measurement of exhaust pollutants from main engines, auxiliary engines and boilers.
Suitable both for new-building installation and retrofit upgrade for existing vessels. It can operate independently or work synchronously with marine SCR, DOC+DPF exhaust-gas treatment systems. Full classification-society approvals (CCS, DNV, ABS, BV, LR, KR, NK, RINA, RS) are provided to meet flag-state survey and Port-State-Control inspection requirements, avoiding detention or penalties in Emission Control Areas (ECAs).
Measured Components
NO, NO₂, SO₂, CO, CO₂, O₂, NH₃ slip and particulate matter (PM).
- Measurement ranges: NO:0-1500 ppm; NO₂:0-150 ppm; SO₂:0-500 ppm; O₂:0-25% vol; CO:0-30000 ppm; CO₂:0-20% vol; NH₃:0-100 ppm; PM:0-100 mg/m³.
- Sampling temperature ≤545 °C; flue-gas analysis temperature ≤325 °C.
- Zero drift ≤ ±2% F.S.; Span drift ≤ ±2% F.S.; Response T90 ≤30 s.
Core Advantages for Ship-owners
✅ Regulatory Compliance
Generates authenticated historical emission records, supporting IMO DCS / MRV reporting, ECA navigation and PSC inspection. Provides objective measured data instead of calculated estimation values.
✅ Marine-grade Robust Hardware
Anti-vibration, salt-fog-resistant design, specially adapted for ship rolling, pitching and harsh engine-room environment. Not converted land-based analytical equipment.
✅ Flexible Integration
Supports RS485 / MODBUS communication to connect with vessel alarm monitoring & control system. Real-time alarm will trigger once emission thresholds are exceeded. Works standalone or linked with SCR closed-loop urea-dosing control.
✅ Convenient Maintenance
Modular analyser layout. Individual modules or sensor probes can be replaced on-site without removing the whole cabinet. Local crew can complete routine check and simple maintenance.
✅ Wide Vessel Compatibility
Fit for container ships, bulk carriers, tankers, ro-ro vessels, general cargo ships, engineering vessels and offshore units. Works for 2-stroke / 4-stroke diesel and dual-fuel engines.
Typical Application Scenarios
- Vessels navigating inside NOₓ / SOₓ Emission Control Areas (ECA).
- New-build vessels equipped with SCR / DOC+DPF exhaust-gas purification units.
- Retrofit projects for existing ships requiring emission-data logging for DCS / MRV obligations.
- Performance verification for SCR or scrubber working efficiency.
