Product Introduction
Intelligent Marine Aeroponic Vegetable-Growing System
Product Introduction
The whole set has completed real-ship sea trial and long-term practical operation onboard a large-tonnage crude oil tanker. It overcomes typical maritime difficulties including heavy rolling & pitching, vibration, high-salinity salt-fog atmosphere. The modular rack-based layout fits existing vacant cabins for retrofitting, without requiring special container-size deck space.
The system enables year-round production of pesticide-free fresh leafy greens, improves crew diet nutrition and mental wellbeing for long-haul navigation.
Core Key Features
-
Aeroponic anti-spill maritime-optimised design Nutrient solution is atomized into fine mist to feed plant roots, instead of deep-water immersion. Specially-designed diversion trough and back-flow structure completely avoid liquid overflow under heavy ship rolling / pitching conditions, eliminating risks of water sloshing common in ordinary hydroponic systems.
-
Redundant dual-pump safety configuration Main & standby atomizing pumps. If the primary pump fails, the backup pump auto-activates within 3 seconds to maintain root mist supply and prevent crop loss. Spray-on / spray-off cycles are programmable to match vessel power-supply limits.
-
Marine-grade corrosion & salt-fog resistance Key electrical assemblies reach IP67 protection rating. Pipelines, nozzles and structural parts use anti-corrosion material, equipped with automatic back-flushing function to prevent salt-sediment nozzle blockage, adapting to continuous high-humidity salt-fog cabin conditions.
-
Full-automatic intelligent control, crew-friendly operation Industrial touch-screen HMI control centre. Real-time monitoring & adjustment for nutrient-solution EC / PH value, cabin temperature, humidity, CO₂ concentration. Supports both automatic-mode and manual-mode. Crews only perform simple work: sowing, seedling transplanting and harvesting. All nutrient mixing, atomising, circulating, filtering runs automatically.
-
High-efficiency full-spectrum LED grow-lights Vibration-resistant waterproof LED lamp bars. Adjustable light intensity & daily lighting cycle (10-14 hours) for different crop growth phases, low heat-output, saving onboard electric power.
Real-ship Performance Reference
- Test vessel: Large crude-oil tanker
- Cabin area: 15 m², simultaneous capacity for 1,320 vegetable plants
- Typical growing cycle for leaf greens: approx. 35 days per harvest batch
- Monthly output: 30-45 kg fresh leaf vegetables. Staggered sowing & harvesting can deliver regular fresh vegetable supply for crew.
- Main suitable crops: lettuce, bok-choy / Shanghai green, pakchoi, leaf-lettuce, amaranth, water spinach and other leafy vegetables.
Typical Application Scenarios
- Existing ocean-going merchant-vessel retrofits: VLCC crude-oil tankers, bulk carriers, container ships, product tankers; upgrade crew living welfare without large-scale hull reconstruction.
- New-building ocean-going ships: Reserve cabin space for installation at shipyard construction phase.
- Offshore platforms & research / survey vessels: Long-term offshore operation sites lacking fresh-produce resupply access.
